Building Dreams for Marines and the Bernard G. Ruchin Memorial Fundraiser

In memory of Bernard "Bernie" G. Ruchin, 1924-2022, who was devoted to the mission of Building Dreams for Marines, there will be a memorial dinner and fundraiser held by Building Dreams for Marines.  This event will be held on October 7th in Nashua, NH.

Bernie enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943 and trained at Parris Island, Camp Lejeune, and Camp Pendleton, and was deployed to the Pacific Theater of Operations with the Second Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment of the 2nd Marine Division. He participated in action on Saipan and Tinian and was detached to the Pacific War Crimes Tribunal. He served as NCOIC at the War Crimes Stockade on Guam.

After the war, he turned to law enforcement with the New York State Police, until he was called back to service with the First Marine Division in the Korean war.

If you are interested in attending this event, please see the attached flyer with more information and contact information for Gwen Krailo who is the coordinator of the event.

Granite State Marine Corps League Detachment 542 has been a long time supporter of Building Dreams for Marines.  Their mission is to help Marines to live more comfortably and confidently in their homes by making home improvements to make it easier for them to move around their home. We consider any type of renovation that will help Marines move in and around their homes.

GSD 542 believes in the mission of BDFM and this year we donated $1000 to their organization, as well as manning the "Money Hole" at their annual Golf Tournament in July and raised an additional $1,316 for this great organization.
